Anmol Karnik is an Indian advertising filmmaker and partner at Morfeus Films, known for his work in branded content, documentaries, and motion picture ads. His filmmaking journey started in childhood, driven by a love for motion pictures. At age fifteen, he apprenticed with renowned ad filmmaker Robert John Pinto (Johnny Pinto), setting the stage for his career.
Anmol earned a bachelor's degree in film production in Los Angeles, gaining industry experience with Warner Bros. Television and the California Film Commission. He also worked with Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gregg Helvey and Cannes competition nominee Mason Richards, sharpening his skills.
In 2012, Anmol pursued a master's degree in creative industries management at Kingston University, London, graduating with distinction. He worked as a junior logistics liaison officer for Olympic Broadcasting Services and as an assistant camera operator at the 2012 London Olympics, expanding his expertise in live event broadcasting.
His short films, including Maya and The Interrogation of Guru Kartaar Singh, were showcased at prestigious festivals like Cannes in 2013. Anmol has produced over 600 videos, documentaries, and ads for major brands such as Pidilite, Raymond, OnePlus, and Reliance Foundation.
Anmol has contributed to international shows like Indian Matchmaking and My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman on Netflix, and the upcoming Queens Park on Disney+.
In 2015, he and filmmaker Akash Chopra documented The Walk of Hope-a padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with Sri M-giving Anmol a rare chance to experience India on foot. The film won Best Documentary at Berlin FFI and the Global Peace Award at The Hague.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Anmol launched The Currious List Podcast, featuring over 40 episodes with guests like Zoya Akhtar and Meghna Gulzar. In 2019, he produced a documentary on a farmer in rural Maharashtra, gaining recognition and funding from Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited. He also completed an MBA online from Quantic School of Business and Technology, Washington DC.
In 2023, Anmol became a partner at Morfeus Films, where he has since directed advertising films for brands such as the Indian Racing Festival, Royal Ranthambore Whisky, 8PM Whisky, Magic Moments Vodka, and Raft Motors, working with celebrities including Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Sourav Ganguly, and Sunny Singh.
