After graduating, he worked as the 1st Assistant Camera on the feature film "Construction", as well as Producing and Assistant Directing various short films. Sam resides in Los Angeles where he Produces comedy shorts for the website CollegeHumor. - He was awarded the 1982 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Distinguished Costume Design for "The Misanthrope" at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
