Zachary Winters Kenney is from San Francisco, CA.

Kenney appears in Antoine Fuqua’s film Michael (2026). He shares the screen with Jaafar Jackson and Colman Domingo, in Graham King’s record-breaking production about ‘The King of Pop.’ The Lionsgate picture (penned by John Logan) is the highest-grossing biopic of all time.

Growing up in The City, Kenney studied at American Conservatory Theater, in the Young Conservatory. At 16, with the Y.C. and National Theatre (London), he originated the title role in The Actor by legendary American playwright Horton Foote.

In 2004, he moved to Chicago to continue training at The Theatre School at DePaul University (formerly the Goodman School of Drama). He was awarded twice in TTS’s storied program, earning a BFA in Acting. Zach began a career in that same ‘City of the Big Shoulders,’ working amid Chicago's vibrant theatre scene, and on prominent stages nationwide. Namely, he played "Ken" in a vivid production of the aforementioned Mr. Logan’s play Red.

Notably, he dedicated himself to the national tour of Letters Home. William Massolia’s play faithfully presents actual letters from U.S. service members to their families during the GWOT. The piece is inspired by HBO’s poignant documentary Last Letters Home and The New York Times article "The Things They Wrote." Letters Home remains the most meaningful project of his career.

Zach’s credits encompass premiere regional venues throughout the United States, including: American Conservatory Theater, Goodman Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, Steppenwolf Theatre, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, Cleveland Playhouse Square, A Noise Within, Hippodrome Theatre, Overture Center for the Arts, Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, Yerba Buena Center for the Perfroming Arts, Lesher Center for the Arts, Clowes Memorial Hall, Capital Center for the Arts, Paramount Arts Center, The Bushnell Center for the Perfroming Arts, and many more. He was cast in several Joseph Jefferson Award-winning and LA Drama Critics Circle-nominated productions.

Tracy Letts once impressed upon Zach and his peers the value and duty of artists: "We tell the truth. We are the ones who say it to their faces." For Zach, that’s worthwhile.

He resides in Los Angeles today.
