I tend to steer clear of the typical tropes found in movies. There are countless stories, both Hollywood and Independent, that have a protagonist/antagonist, good vs. evil storyline. If you want the final girl victory or happily ever after scenario, there are an unlimited supply. Not that homage isn't paid to my influences, it is, but against the trend is more my style. My characters tend to live in the gray, often far away from being a likable protagonist. These created worlds are often bleak without any sugarcoating.
