Westcoast girl Alicia Bernbaum has always been surrounded by media and
good communicators. She spent a lot of her early childhood at her
mothers local news television station where she was exposed to TV,
camera work, set etiquette and the business side of the industry.
Alicia took drama and arts classes all through her adolescence to
combat the seriousness of growing up. Combining theater, acting,
background work, independent productions and acting classes, Alicia's
film industry experience spans around 10 years.
She has studied at Gateway Theater, Carousel Theater, Austin-Tuck Studios with Deborah Podowski and at Vancouver Acting School with Michael Coleman, Ali Liebert and Craig March, all with over 200 credits of combined experience. She now loves coaching with Diana Pavlovska - recommended by Michelle Allen Casting. In July of 2010, Alicia started volunteering professionally with Michelle Allen Casting in Vancouver where she begun by helping with casting on "FINAL DESTINATION 5". Through her volunteer experience, Alicia was asked by Michelle to work with her during two acting workshops at The Tarlington School of Acting. Actors like Amanda Crew, Callum Worthy and Kristen Kreuk graduated from Tarlington. Michelle Allen Casting has over 20 years of credits including "THE GOOD WIFE", Catherine Hardwick's "RED RIDING HOOD" (2011) and Zack Snyder's "WATCHMEN" (2009) and 2011's "SUCKERPUNCH".
Alicia also works closely with Women In Film and Television, a non-profit networking organization supporting women who work in many different roles of the film and television industry. Using her media knowledge and a Public Relations background, Alicia has worked on the promotions team and in November 2010 was asked to chair the Sponsorship committee for the 6th Annual Women in Film and Television Festival in March 2011. She loves the fantasy and discovery in acting, stories that leave you speechless for days, good conversation, growing ideas and the power of words.
