Stanislaw Ulam was born on 13 April 1909 in Lviv, Ukraine. He was married to Francoise Aron. He died on 13 May 1984 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.

Polish-American mathematician who invented the Monte Carlo method of computation and participated in the Manhattan Project. He is the older brother of Adam Ulam and they are related to Joanna Harcourt-Smith.
