Biography

Aurelia Khazan is a French actress and filmmaker whose career has taken her from Paris to Mumbai, working across languages, cultures and cinematic traditions.

Trained in France under Alexandre Grecq, a member of the Comédie-Française and later in India at Actor Prepares, the acting school founded by Anupam Kher, she developed a passion for international storytelling and cross-cultural narratives. Fluent in Hindi, she has appeared in several Indian productions and worked under the direction of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Khazan has portrayed leading roles in films including Love Me Haiti, shot in Port-au-Prince, La Rupture, and the American feature film The Lost Child. Her performance in Love Me Haiti earned her the UNESCO Dikalo Award for Best Performance, recognizing both her work as an actress and her contribution to intercultural dialogue through cinema.

Alongside her acting career, Khazan has increasingly focused on directing and storytelling. Her directorial debut, The Last Meeting, received several international festival selections and awards, including the Best First Time Director Award at the Silk Road International Film Awards. She later directed the animated music video Doux Agnelet, wrote and directed the short film Note de Cœur, which was selected in several international film festivals and most recently directed Woman on Rope, a film conceived in collaboration with UNESCO and dedicated to women's rights. For her work as director on the project, Khazan received the Best Achievement Award from the Better World Fund during the Cannes Film Festival.

As a voice artist, Khazan has also contributed to the French versions of major international productions including Bohemian Rhapsody, Yesterday, and Victoria & Abdul. A trained singer and violinist, she brings a strong musical sensibility to both her acting and filmmaking.

Beyond her artistic work, she is actively involved in initiatives promoting intercultural dialogue and peace. She is the recipient of the Peace Award of the Congress of the Republic of Peru and serves as a Peace Ambassador with the Universal Circle of Peace Ambassadors (Geneva).
