- He suffered a stroke, collapsed and fell into a coma on March 2, 2009. On March 6, 2009 he died of cardiac arrest as a complication from high blood pressure at the Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA. The circumstances of Williams' death have infuriated his grieving family, who claim he was mistreated by hospital staff because he had no medical cover.
