Jim Cummings is a Sundance and SXSW winning filmmaker and actor. His feature films include Thunder Road, The Wolf of Snow Hollow, and The Beta Test. His first TV series, The Screener, had its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and he works fully independently at his production company Cool & Happy Studios.

I failed for so many years, I was a producer making things that didn't really connect with audiences. I got to see why things were going wrong, but the feelings of inadequacy got smaller until I thought I could make something on my own.

My advice to any [budding filmmaker] is don't wait! 'Just make it. It's going to suck the first time, but you learn!
