Biography

Henry Conyngham was born on May 25, 1951 in Dublin, Ireland. He was an actor, known for The Manions of America (1981), The Story of English (1986) and How Ireland Rocked the 80s (2022). He was married to Lady Iona Charlotte Grimston and Juliet Kitson. He died on June 18, 2025 in Dublin, Ireland.

As custodian of Slane Castle in County Meath, Ireland, he hosted concerts by world-famous musicians such as Queen, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and U2.

Lord Henry took over the running of the Slane estate in 1976 at the age of just 25, after returning home from London, where he worked with book publishers Faber & Faber.

In 1992, he ran in the general election for Fine Gael, polling fifth in the then-four-seater Louth constituency.

He became known as the Earl of Mount Charles, a courtesy title, in 1974.

Attended Harrow School in London before studying at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts.
