Ali Moss is an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker with 18 years of experience telling true stories about other people’s lives-who has now turned the lens on herself. She is writing an essay collection about raising a trans kid in Trump’s America.

Ali’s latest Emmy-nominated feature film, No Accident (HBO/MAX), premiered in October 2023. Other recent documentaries include the Oscar-nominated The Barber of Little Rock (The New Yorker 2024), Fauci (Disney+/Telluride 2021), Yusuf Hawkins: Storm Over Brooklyn (HBO/Tribeca 2020), and the Emmy-nominated feature Not Done: Women Remaking America (PBS 2020). She is honored to have been a 2020 Impact Partners Producing Fellow and to have been named to DocNYC’s 2021 list of 40 Under 40. Her writing about her family has been published in The New York Times, Slate, Electric Literature, HuffPost, Buzzfeed, and more.
