  • Alex George Pickering is an LA-based screenwriter and producer, represented by Citizen Skull Management alongside his writing partner, Matthew Breault. Originally from Boston, MA, Alex earned his BA in English/Writing at Georgetown University before obtaining an MFA in Cinema-TV Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. During his time at USC, Alex wrote the FotoKem Gold-winning short Efrain, recognized as USC's Best Film of 2011, and the Ryan Coogler-directed short Fig, which was distributed on HBO and Kanopy.

    Since then, Alex has written episodes of Puss in Boots Shorts and Kung Fu Panda for Peacock Kids, and has optioned several feature scripts, including the upcoming films Crate and Impulse Control. His accolades include winning the Filmmatic Drama, Shore Scripts Drama, Script Pipeline TV, and Script2Comic contests, as well as finalist awards in prestigious competitions like the Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Film Festival, WeScreenplay, ScreenCraft and more.

    Alex is the author of the upcoming comic book series and graphic novel Heard, based on his award-winning screenplay of the same name, and the writer of the critically recognized biopic Jumpman, developed across screen and publishing formats.

    Outside of his writing endeavors, Alex also directs commercials, promotional videos and live events for LARAEC, LAUSD and other organizations, and is a Professor of Film at California Baptist University.
