- Gregor Bozic was born in Nova Gorica, Yugoslavia. He is a director and cinematographer, known for Stories from the Chestnut Woods (2019),Playing Men (2017), The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent (2024) and Fiume o Morte! (2025).
He studied film & cinematography at the Agrft Ljubljana and DFFB Berlin, as well as contemporary visual arts at the Le Fresnoy.
His work as director or cinematographer has been showcased at numerous international film festivals, including Cannes, Toronto, Locarno, Rotterdam, Marseille, Camerimage, Goa, Tallinn, New York, San Sebastian, Shanghai, and was honored with the the most important awards including the Palme d'or for best short, a nomination for the Oscar academy awards, the European film academy award for best documentary, the Tiger award for best feature in Rotterdam, the best first feature award in Tallinn and many others.
Besides working in cinema, he is also conducting a vast research on old and endemic Mediterranean fruit varieties and the stories connected with them.
