Heba Abu Musaed is a Palestinian-Jordanian multidisciplinary artist, director, writer, actress, music producer, and certified holistic health coach. Her body of work spans more in television, film, music, and wellness. She is the founder and creative behind The "Subject is We" for over two decades, an experimental EDM project that merges sonic narratives with identity and healing.
Heba began her career in media at just 16 years old, working as a journalist in the UAE. She went on to earn a degree in Mass Communication with a focus on TV and radio production and a minor in philosophy. Later, she completed a filmmaking diploma at the New York Film Academy. She is also certified as a Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York.
From 2002 to 2007, she worked as a producer and editor at Al Arabiya News Channel during major regional events. She joined MBC Group and later directed and produced television and film content in Abu Dhabi, Egypt, and Iraq. She has held senior leadership positions, including founding and managing UTV Iraq.
Her acclaimed short film Bahiyya & Mahmoud (2011) received international recognition and several festival awards. She is also the creator and show runner of the political-psychological series Elmahatta* (2025).
Heba is a Berlinale Talents alumna, a participant in TorinoFilmLab, and a fellow of Film Independent's Global Media Makers residency.
Her work centers on collective healing, cultural memory, and reclaiming narrative through a distinctly bold and intuitive lens.
