Biography

He was awarded the Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 2012 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to Scholarship. He is the Regius Professor of HIstory at University of Cambridge in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England and President of Wolfson College in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.

Evans was a major expert witness for the Defense in David Irving's libel suit against Deborah Lipstadt at being called a lying Holocaust denier. Although Irving incessantly argued with Evans on the stand about his findings, Evans was able to prove that the plaintiff's historical writings are fraudulent and clear evidence of him being a Holocaust denier.
