Biography

Jon writes tragicomedic family dramas exploring nontraditional queer themes and the closeness that comes from adversity. His work's like going on a dark ride with your bestie, one martini in. Levenson was a career actor in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He was part of the original Broadway cast of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart. When the Navy took his brother-in-law overseas, Levenson came home to do some hardcore uncle-ing. It was during this time he fell for writing.

Levenson's first short film, Someone Will Assist You Shortly, premiered at the Montclair Film Festival in October 2021. The film was lauded at several festivals throughout 2022 and closed its run by winning Best Short Narrative Film at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival. Levenson was also Co-Director of Programming for the Cambria Film Festival.

Jon received a Screenwriting MFA at University of California, Riverside, and another in International Theatre at University of Tennessee. Levenson is a proud SAG-AFTRA member.

He lives on the Central Coast of California with his smarty-pants husband and their spoiled mutt.
