This is a clip from an experimental film written and directed by Peter Mays. It takes place on an imaginary volcanic islet ruled by King Kong. The arrival of a cruise ship and sacrifice of Fay Wray causes higher powers to manifest in the form of both primitive and evolved gods. Dance and rhythmic movement placate the darkness and resolve the fear. In the center of the island, the natives dance to propitiate the intrusion from above, while on the shore a group from the cruise ship dance for fun. Some girls hear the drums in the interior and enter the rain forest but get caught in quicksand. A woman from the ship seeks a guide to the "orgy." The appearance of the Buddha awakens more ancient gods and goddesses, specifically Siva and Shakti. The cruise people join the natives in the center, under a gigantic blue wheel of karma. Above, Siva meditates. In his astral body he crosses the archetypal mountain of the past into a "false" dawn. His romance with Parvati is expressed, and Parvati (a manifestation of Shakti) enters the world of the dance below the karma wheel as a fire goddess. She builds the celebration to the final Siva dance in the universe as a whole, the climax of which sets off a volcanic eruption, destroying all life on the island. Only the cruise ship escapes.
