  • Rolando Garduño is a Mexican filmmaker based in Prague. He works across fiction, documentary, and television, collaborating with directors on story development, dramatic structure, and the editorial process. His involvement often begins during the early stages of a project and continues through post-production.

    He holds BA and MA degrees in Film Editing from FAMU’s Czech-language program in Prague.

    His work as editor and dramaturge includes the Czech Television miniseries Filter (2026), directed by David Semler, which had its world premiere as an exclusive sneak preview in the official Special Screenings section of the 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival; and Daniel Stopa’s documentary KIOSK (2023), which premiered at the 20th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival, won Best Documentary at the NURT and Solanin film festivals, and received two Special Mentions at Docudays UA, from the DOCU/SHORT Competition and the Students’ Jury. His short-film editing credits include works screened and recognized at festivals across Europe and the United States, notably David Semler’s Must Be Painful (2020), winner of the ARTE Award for Best Short Film at Film School Fest Munich and a nominee for the Magnesia Award for Best Student Film at the Czech Lion Awards.

    Garduño has also worked on multimedia and museum projects. He collaborated with ByPINK and Loom on the Moon on the exhibitions Famous Czech Composers (2020) and The Battle of Kolín (2021) for the Czech National Museum. In collaboration with 3D Sense, he directed and edited the museum’s 205th-anniversary film.

    As a director, his short film What Would You Like to See? (2019) received the Best Student Short Film Award at Oaxaca FilmFest. It was also selected for On Art Film Festival in Poland and Kinofilm Manchester International Short Film Festival in the United Kingdom, and was screened as part of the opening programme of the 14th edition of La Película, the Spanish and Ibero-American film festival organized by the Instituto Cervantes in Prague.
