Biography

Nancy Biniadaki is a Greek filmmaker based in Berlin. Her first feature "The Surface of Things" premiered in competition at Thessaloniki 2017 and won Best Greek Newcomer Director Award at AIFF 2018. Her second film "Maysoon" premiered at Oldenburg 2025, participated in many international festivals and was distributed to theaters in Germany. She has directed many awarded short films, among which "Still Counting" participated at the Biennale of Young Artist in Rome 1999. She has also directed television documentaries and was Associate Director at the Closing Ceremony of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. She has collaborated with the Greek National Theatre, the Concert Hall Megaron, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival as well as off-stages in creating mixed-media performances and videos for the stage. She has been honored with the Grimme Preis and the Greek State Melina Merkouri Award.
