Biography

Luciana Paes, graduated from the School of Dramatic Art (EAD/ECA/USP). In 2008, she started at Cia Hiato, a company she is part of to this day, with research work on performative narrativity and the ways of integrating body and voice on stage. Some of the company's works: "Cachorro Morto" (2008); "Escuro" (2010) for which she was nominated for the Shell Award, one of the main Brazilian theater awards in Brazil, in the Best Actress category; "Garden" (2011); "Ficção" (2012) production in which she was also nominated for Shell. All shows were directed by Leonardo Moreira.

She made her TV debut in the soap opera "Fina Estampa" (2011) directed by Wolf Maya, "Além do Horizonte" (2013) directed by Ricardo Waddington, "Espelho da Vida" (2018) directed by Pedro Vasconcelos and "The more life, the better" ( 2021), with general direction by Pedro Brenelli and artistic direction by Allan Fiterman, his most recent soap opera, all produced and broadcast by TV Globo, the largest broadcaster in Brazil. Still, at Rede Globo, she participated in the "Complete Artist" on Domingão do Faustão, in 2013 and in the series "Vade Retro", directed by Mauro Mendonça Filho (2017).

In the series, Luciana Paes makes "Me Chama de Bruna" directed by Marcia Farias for Canal Fox + (2016), "Aí eu vi Vantagens" on Multishow (2015) and "Amigo de Aluguel" on Universal TV created by Dainara Toffoli and Josefina Trotta, "Family on vacation", first and second season (2019) for Multishow channel, "Eleita" (2022) general direction by Carolina Jabor and direction by Rodrigo Van Der Put for Prime video and "Notícias Populares" for Canal Brasil, and "Perdida" for Disney, both scheduled to premiere in 2023.

In cinema, she debuted in 2008 with the feature film "One for the Other" directed by Cecilia Engels, which won the Kinopheria Award in the category of Best Actress. The partnership with the director continued in the feature film "Apart Horta" in 2015. In 2010, she starred in the short film "A Mão que afaga" directed by Gabriela Almeida Amaral, receiving the Candango for Best Actress in Brasília in 2012.

Still, in cinema, she was part of the cast of the features "Symphony of the Necropolis" (2014), directed by Juliana Rojas; "Mãe só há Uma" (2016) directed by Anna Muylaert; "Malasartes" (2017) directed by Paulo Morelli; "Divorcio 190" (2017) directed by Pedro Amorim and "O Animal Cordial" (2017) where she is the protagonist of the film. In 2016, she received the Kikito Award for Best Actress for the feature film "Aquele Cinco Segundos", directed by Felipe Saleme, and "A Sombra do Pai", directed by Gabriela Amaral Almeida. Her last feature films were "Galeria Futuro" (2021) directed by Fernando Sanches and Afonso Poyart, "Deus Não Erra" with the general direction of filmmaker Afonso Poyart, "Uma Quase Duo" (2018) directed by Marcus Baldini.

Three years later, she enrolled at Cia Hiato, a production company of which she is a part even to this day, where she is responsible for performative narrative and the ways of body and voice integration during scenes. She debuted on the silver screen in 2008 with the feature film Um para o Outro, directed by Cecília Engels, which won her an award for Best Actress at the Kinopheria Awards. Her partnership with Engels extended onto the feature film Apart Horta (2015). In 2010, she starred in the short film A Mão que Afaga with the direction of Gabriela Almeida Amaral, which got her the Candango award for Best Actress in 2012.

In 2016, she received yet another award, the Kikito Award for Best Actress for her work on Aqueles Cinco Segundos, which was directed by Felipe Saleme. Also, she was cast on the Multishow series Férias em Família, directed by Pabo Uranga.

As for her latest works, she plays Hosana in the Prime series Eleita, she also starred in the series BO (Netflix), feature Perdida (Disney), Notícias Populares (Canal Brasil) and feature film Saidera. In 2023, she debuted in the series No Corre at Multishow.
