Henry Hopkins(1928-2009)

Philip Guston, a staple of the abstract expressionist movement, found his place amongst the avant garde New York School. Relying on motif and repetition, he portayed the importance of his often political subjects with heavy brush strokes that turn and travel expressively across the canvas. Guston did not fear exploration but welcomed it, eagerly following the winding path of his ever evolving art.
