The Rock Band "Maddison" wrote a song titled "La Suanne" after her when the lead singer and song writer Damien Maddison discovered Hastings' book "Many Moods of Maddie/Bossy Boots" while searching picture books for his young daughter Emily, who ended up becoming pen pals with the Author.

Suanne was born in Toronto, Canada's "Little Italy" where she lived until she was 8-years-old. She spent her middle school and high school years in Etobicoke, (sub area of Toronto) and later attended York University to study Fine Arts.

Suanne was the nanny/baby-sitter to actress Madeleine Leigh. Suanne played an active role in raising Madeleine, since Madeleine was 6-months-old. Madeleine and her brother Max inspired Suanne to write a kids, preschool picture book series that is now published work titled "Raising Maddie / Bossy Boots".

During the filming of Military Husband Suanne was hit by an under-insured motorist in Los Angeles on March 16, 2008. Suanne had doctors remove her cast on the set of Military Husband, (while she played the character " Mary" ) so she could complete one last continuity scene. Suanne has under-gone five surgeries to save function to her right arm. Suanne has a foot long scar on her forearm from hardware installation. Suanne calls it her "Bionic Arm".

"2012 Beautiful Goddesses" has placed Suanne Hastings on their list of top 375 beautiful "fresh faces" on IMDb. Suanne grew up in Etobicoke, Ontario with fellow actress, and gal pal Riva Di Paola who also made the "2012 Beautiful Goddesses" list.
