- Shima Monfared is an Iranian-Canadian film editor with over two decades of professional experience editing feature films, documentaries, and short films. She has worked extensively on international productions in Canada, Iran, and other countries, and has also been actively involved as a producer in the production of feature films. She is best known for editing the feature film When Pomegranates Howl (2020), which was officially submitted by Australia for the Academy Awards as Best International Feature Film and received significant international recognition, including attention from the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. Her editing work on Twenty and Over There has also been recognized at major international film festivals such as the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. In addition to her work as an editor, Monfared has been active as a producer and filmmaker, contributing to the production of feature films, documentaries, short films, and animation projects, some of which she also directed. She has served as a jury member and selection committee member for international film festivals, including the Batumi International Short Film Festival (Lemon) and the Ark Gate International Film Festival (Toronto), and is a co-founder of Ark Gate Films Inc.
