Waseem Mirza
Waseem Mirza is an award-winning British TV Presenter who went back to his Screen Acting roots which began whilst a Journalism student in Lincoln, England. He was born and grew up in Peterborough, England, and graduated from the University of Lincoln. Before graduating he was hired by BBC World as its first TV Researcher for flagship technology show "Click".

A few months before graduation he had already secured a trainee TV News Journalist position in Norwich, England. The regional news program Look East was forced to wait over 4 months for him to start, due to prior commitments at BBC World and the BBC Asian Network.

At "Click" his debut short television news film reporting on the first iteration of the "Internet of Things" saw some experts over-claim that the development would lead to the "death of the PC".

Before starting in broadcast news and factual television, he landed a role as a Double for the daytime BBC drama series "Doctors", playing the character Dr. Rana Mistry, (originally played by Akbar Kurtha) during his undergraduate years. He had already appeared in a featured part as "Boyfriend" reacting to a hold-up in a retail store in Birmingham. The drama series was being filmed at BBC Pebble Mill before its relocation to a new Drama Village at Selly Oak.

Waseem also co-presented a National Film & Television School pilot entertainment show, part-funded by the BBC. As a teenager, he appeared as himself on the Nickelodeon show: School of the Week presented by Jenny Powell, when it featured his school the Thomas Deacon Academy.

Whilst at BBC Look East, a regional nightly news program for television viewers in the East of England and the Home Counties in Southern England, he was named TV Hotshot by Broadcast - a UK media industry magazine. His ability to attract a new generation of younger viewers to television news was recognized, as the lead launch Presenter of the 8pm News summary on BBC One, which aired after the popular daily British soap opera, Eastenders.

He began formally training as an actor in 2019. Just two years later, Waseem's debut film acting role saw him play the physician Dr. Hamid in Beyond Belief - talking to the dead, released and distributed in May 2021 by BBC co-production partner: The Open University. The film would go on to win a host of awards including Best Director (Haider Zafar) at the 31st Crownwood International Film Festival in July of the same year followed by a host of other awards on the film festival circuit including the White Deer International Film Festival and the London LiftOff Film Festival.

2022 marks Waseem's debut in a major HBO commissioned, returning drama series, produced by Warner Bros. Television at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire. The returning DC Comics origin series has a new home with HBO Max. He has also completed filming for an appearance in a popular US commissioned British drama from AMC Networks subsidiary Acorn TV and other projects for Netflix.

Waseem is known to be an electric car advocate having covered the latest developments in the technology for BBC Television. His electric driving adventure went viral among tech-lifestyle blogs when reporting from a Motorway Service Station in southeast Britain. His passion for technology will see him front a new tech news-focused video web series (FutureTECH) which is in production alongside The FutureTECH Show for all major podcast streaming networks.

He continues to combine professional acting and presenting together with work as a voice artist, having appeared in commercials and corporate projects, including for the world's largest bank and in a commercial for the FIFA World Cup 2022 shown between matches and prime-time across Great Britain & Northern Ireland. Waseem Mirza is a board-approved full member of the Association of British Science Writers and is a proud Equity registered Actor.
