She graduated from Oklee High School in 1982. With a Theatre Arts degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead, she moved to Florida, where she began working at the Actor's Repertory Theatre in West Palm Beach. With the twin challenges of motherhood and grueling work schedules, Pamela took a 17-year hiatus from acting to be a full-time mom. She homeschooled her three children. Pamela emerged from retirement when her middle son expressed interest in acting. She began splitting time between Ohio and California in 2007.
