Biography

Gigi Morin is a founding partner of Morin Charnetski Ceroni LLP. For over 20+ years Gigi has advised content creators, producers and talent navigate the legals associated with developing, producing, and exploiting first class content.

Gigi works with live action and animation content creators and producers (narrative, documentary, factual, lifestyle, reality, children, youth, gaming and variety) on a broad range of matters including: negotiating rights acquisitions and options; advising on financing structures including Canadian content structures, international co-productions and co-ventures; negotiating domestic and international broadcast, streaming and distribution agreements; advising and negotiating talent agreements on behalf of producers and talent including creators, showrunners, performers, writers and directors including those under the jurisdiction of guilds such as ACTRA, SAG, WGC, WGA and DGC; advising on government and private funding initiatives; negotiating interim financing arrangements with private and institutional lenders; and advising on matters relating to insurance and clearance. Gigi also advises on matters relating to the exploitation of ancillary rights and products including licensing and merchandising, publishing, and formats.

Gigi is a former board member on the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre (CFMDC) and Toronto Film Board and a current member of WIFT. Gigi has been consistently listed as a leading lawyer in entertainment law in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.
