After High School he Joined the Army Reserve and studied engineering, first at the University of Montana, then Montana State. Eventually Colt switched gears and entered the US Army Special Forces where he earned his Green Beret. Storytelling and making music had always been an important part of Colt's life, so after the military he went to acting school.
