Biography

Originally from Dallas, TX, multi-award-winning LA based writer/producer/filmmaker Hunter M. Davis specializes in contained action thrillers with attitude, elevated suspense, and wildly unpredictable twists.

As a director, Hunter is known for his popular award winning web series, HELL. A. and the digital web campaign, Life in Your Social Network, staring the late Tom Sizemore & Gilbert Gottfried.

As a producer, Hunter is known for a variety of projects, including the critically acclaimed feature documentary, Where My Heart Beats, which received domestic and foreign distribution and was broadcast on television networks across the world.

As a writer, Hunter has received top coverage scores, earned placement on The Red List, and won a variety of top-tier contests such as PAGE International & The ISA Fast Track Fellowship. In 2025, out of 353,866 total projects, Hunter's co-written script, Checkout, earned placement on Coverfly's All-Time Top Ten List showcasing the platforms overall highest rated screenplays in all genres. (Less than 1%). In 2026, Hunter's co-written script, BUSted was a Top Ten Finalist in the industry renowned Roadmap Writers Top Tier Competition. Hunter's gut punching, contained crime thriller, A Little R&R (directed and co-written by creative partner Bryan Bockbrader), is premiering at Dances with Films LA in the Midnight Series to kick off the film's 2026 festival run. As a recognized dialogue specialist, Hunter currently has multiple projects under option and in development.
