  • Bethany Bruce is an independent creative producer and co-founder of the production company Staple Fiction. She has produced short documentaries and drama films for some of the most original voices in contemporary Australian cinema. Her drama producing credits include the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Social Shorts nominated Wolf (2016) directed by Liz Cooper and Sunday Emerson Gullifer's Broken Line North (2019), which premiered at the 2019 Sydney Film Festival. Bethany was an executive producer on Shelly Lauman's Birdie (2018), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018 and was acquired by Searchlight Pictures. She was co-producer on Selina Miles' debut feature documentary Martha: A Picture Story (2019), which had its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2019 and won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Sydney Film Festival. Bethany developed and produced two original arts documentary series for ABC (Australia), The Glass Bedroom (2016) and Video Becomes Us (2018) with director Kate Blackmore. She also has production credits on the British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominated feature documentary Sherpa (2015), directed by Jennifer Peedom and the feature drama The Rehearsal (2016), directed by Alison Maclean. Bethany completed a two-year producer placement in 2016, mentored by acclaimed independent producers Bridget Ikin and John Maynard as part of a Screen Australia Enterprise People grant, where she worked at their production company Felix Media.
