Biography

Carri Toivanen is a versatile actor whose work spans television, film, stage, and voice acting. Her credits include projects for major network and streaming television (CBS / 20th Television, Hallmark, NBCUniversal, Amazon MGM Studios, Lifetime, ABC, The CW, Fox, TLC), independent film, and motion capture projects. Her extensive voice portfolio includes commercial campaigns, corporate media, video games, and audiobook narration.

On stage, Carri made her lead debut in 2019 with United Players of Vancouver, which required a British Received Pronunciation accent. She has an acting diploma from Capilano University and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts - New York, with continued training in Vancouver.

Carri grew up in northern Alberta before making her creative home on the West Coast. She is of Slovak, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish descent. Drawn to the craft early in life, she sought a variety of experiences that kept her close to the arts, including vocal performance, dance, and theatre education, as well as working at a movie theatre, a video store, and backstage at a dinner theatre dressing legends like Loretta Swit and Alan Young. Carri is currently based in Vancouver, Canada.
