Biography

John Froines was born on June 13, 1939 in Oakland, California, USA. He was married to Andrea Hricko and Ana Rubio. He died on July 13, 2022 in Santa Monica, California, USA.

He was one of the "Chicago Seven", antiwar activists who went on trial on charges of conspiracy to incite a riot during the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

After high school, he joined the Air National Guard, then earned an associate degree at Contra Costa Community College. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, and received a bachelor's in chemistry. He received a PhD in chemistry at Yale.

He worked for several years for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

His father, a shipyard worker, was murdered when John was 3 years old.
