Loved going for long hikes with her beloved dog, Splash.

Worked for CBS in two different stints. Just out of college, her first job in television was for CBS News Overnight, then a period working as a talent producer for Larry King Live (1985) until her 1997 return to CBS, as an Emmy award-winning producer and then a Senior Story Editor at 60 Minutes (1968) and 60 Minutes Sports (2013) on Showtime, a sister company (both then owned by Viacom, now [as of 2023] owned by Paramount Global).

Loved spending time outdoors with family and friends, including skiing in Vermont, hiking in the woods, or swimming at Barnegat Light (on Long Beach Island, New Jersey).

Attended and graduated from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, USA.

Katie was passionate about historic preservation, serving as a longtime member of the Westfield (NJ) Historic Preservation Commission.
