Kariné Marwood is a Canadian screenwriter and member of the Writers Guild of Canada whose work spans cozy mysteries, romantic dramas, and television movies. She received a 2025 Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Writing of a TV Movie for Curious Caterer: Foiled Plans, co-written with Julie Kim, her best friend whom she met in high school.
Originally trained in the IT world with a Computer Science degree, Kariné left the corporate world after completing her M.B.A. to pursue screenwriting full time, bringing a producer-minded sensibility to story development, deadlines, and collaboration. She and Julie founded Toronto-based Skyword Productions and have written multiple produced projects.
Kariné is drawn to smart, emotionally grounded stories with strong female leads. Known for being collaborative and prepared, she enjoys working closely with producers to shape scripts that serve both creative vision and production realities.
