Biography

Suzanne’s first summer stock production, "Beyond the Sundown", was an outdoor drama on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation located 17 miles outside Livingston, Texas. Awakening to the sound of drums and chanting on the second night, Suzanne watched elder members from the Tribe perform a tribal dance to drive away any "evil spirits" the actors might have brought with them to the Reservation.

After college, Ms. Kennedy moved to New York in the mid 1980s and began to work in stock, regional and dinner theater, and then Off-Broadway in some original plays under the auspices of Playwrights Horizons and Ensemble Studio Theatre. Curt Dempster of Ensemble Studio Theatre invited her to attend a Horton Foote workshop in Tannersville, New York where Horton joined them midweek. Suzanne and Mr. Foote corresponded for many years after that. (Dan Lauria sponsored a staged reading of "Talking Pictures", a new play by Mr. Foote at the Canon Theater in Los Angeles in 1994 with Jean Smart in the lead and Suzanne in a supporting role.)

After Ms. Kennedy moved to Los Angeles in 1991, she booked stints on Just Shoot Me and a co-star on Dark Skies, in which she had a scene with the inimitable J.T. Walsh!

In the fall of 2014, Suzanne returned to New York to attend Tom Todoroff’s Acting Conservatory, where she fell in love with Shakespeare. She graduated in 2016.

Suzanne had the privilege of playing Cleopatra in Bard City’s Shakespeare In A Week Production of "Antony and Cleopatra" at CSC in 2018 directed by RSC’s Owen Horsley, and Hostess Quickly and Alice in "Henry V" directed by Mary Lou Rosato in 2019.

Suzanne is one of the stars of the wacky comedy webisode "Tape: A Christmas Miracle" (PrimeVideo). Suzanne also appears in a new web series, "Extra Room"; and finished filming the pilot episode of "Street Wolfe".
