Biography

Emily Wilson is an LA-based filmmaker originally from Syracuse, New York, and an alumna of the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory.

As a writer/director, Emily has a strong preference for darkly comedic storytelling. Her short film, Danny's Girl, premiered in the Midnight category at Sundance Film Festival, is an official selection of SXSW, and received a Vimeo Staff Pick. The comedy pilot she co-wrote and directed, I Adore Dolores, premiered at SeriesFest, won "Most Outrageous" at the Orlando Film Festival, was named one of NoBudge's "Top Films of 2020," and is an alum of the IFP Episodic Labs.

As a professional video editor specializing in both documentary and scripted projects, Emily has collaborated with media companies in New York City and Los Angeles, including A&E, YouTube Originals, Viceland, National Geographic, NBC Peacock, Sports Illustrated, Bustle, and Bleacher Report. Notable projects include Snoop Dogg's feature documentary Reincarnated (TIFF, SXSW), Cutter Hodierne's feature film Fishing Without Nets (Sundance), Viceland's critically acclaimed television series Dark Side of the Ring, and Allen Otto's feature documentary On Guard: A Story of American Youth (Gravitas Ventures).
