Dr. Richard Niles is a prolific composer, producer, songwriter and arranger whose work has spanned the recording industry, feature films and television. He has written, produced and presented acclaimed music documentaries for BBC Radio 2. He is a published author and journalist and music educator. The records on which he has worked have sold over 250 million copies combined in the United States. Niles has composed, arranged, conducted and produced music for many films and TV series. He is an acclaimed broadcaster for BBC Radio 2, writing, producing and composing theme music for many series.

Dr. Niles has produced, arranged and written music for a remarkable list of artists including Paul McCartney, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Cher, Mariah Carey, Dusty Springfield, Cat Stevens, Grace Jones, Swing Out Sister, Kid Creole, Deniece Williams, James Brown, Michael McDonald, Pet Shop Boys, Tears For Fears, The Troggs, Wet Wet Wet, Boyzone, Westlife, Take That, Ronan Keating and Kylie Minogue. In jazz, Niles has worked with Pat Metheny, Martin Taylor, Bob James, Michel Legrand, Ray Charles, Jane Monheit, Guy Barker, Bob Mintzer, The Yellowjackets, Silje Nergaard, John Patitucci, Jim Mullen, Janek Gwizdala, Nelson Rangell, Chris Hunter, Nigel Hitchcock, Danny Gottlieb, Gwylim Simcock and Gary Husband. He has also worked with classical icons Placido Domingo, Kiri Te Kanawa and Montserrat Caballe. He has also worked with theatrical stars Oliver Reed, Michael Ball, David Essex, Twiggy and Robert Powell. He has released 5 albums of his own compositions, 2 of his jazz orchestra Bandzilla.
