  • Victor Tadashi Suárez is a Japanese American and Spanish filmmaker and cinematographer based in Los Angeles. He directed, shot, and edited the film, STILL STANDING, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. He’s won two Emmys and was the DP for the series, Quiet on Set, the most-streamed title on Max. Some of his feature credits include #SKYKING (SXSW 2026), Take No Prisoners (SXSW 2025) and Driver (Tribeca 2024). His craft is influenced by his journalistic background, spending years shooting for the FX / Hulu series, The New York Times Presents, for which he was awarded the Edward R Murrow Award from The Overseas Press Club as well as an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Video Journalism (Collision) and, in 2021, Outstanding Documentary Cinematography (The Sicario). He was the cinematographer for Controlling Britney Spears, which was nominated in 2022 for a Primetime Emmy, and the PBS FRONTLINE film, South Korea’s Adoption Reckoning, which was nominated for a Peabody Award in 2025. He studied economics-philosophy and history at Columbia University in NYC. Awards for projects where he was the sole or lead credited DP include: 4 News and Doc Emmy wins, 3 Peabody nominations, 2 Creative Arts Emmy nominations, 1 Academy Award Shortlist, 21 News and Doc Emmy Nominations, 1 Television Critics Association Award Win, 1 Gotham Television Award nomination, 2 Overseas Press Club Awards, and winning best film at Full Frame, Seattle, and Aspen.
