Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Flora Dias is a director and cinematographer, from São Paulo, Brazil. She graduated in film at UFF (Brazil) and École Nationale Louis Lumière (France). As a DoP, she has been developing her work in short and feature films since 2009. Among them are: "Necropolis Symphony" (2014, 29th Mar del Plata Film Festival) and "Dopplegänger" (2012, Semaine de la critique, Cannes) by Juliana Rojas, "California" (2015, IFFRotterdam) by Marina Person and "Time to Kill, Time to Die" (2016, Queer Lisboa) by Giovani Barros. In 2019, she premieres three films as DoP at the IFFRotterdam and IndieLisboa: the features "Your Bones and Your Eyes" by Caetano Gotardo, Ramon Porto Mota's "Yellow Night", and the short "First Act" by Matheus Parizi. And also another feature, Bruno Risas' "Yesterday there were strange things in the sky" at the 2019, Torino Film Festival. As a director, she was responsible for the feature film "The Sun against My Eyes" developed at the 2012, Bafici Talent Campus and premiered at the 2013, 28th Mar del Plata Film Festival. Her short film "West" was screened at the 2016, 27th São Paulo Intl. Short Film Festival and "Mirage" on the 2019, 22th Tiradentes Film Festival. In 2020, during pandemia context, Flora releases in virtual platforms the short Pytang. With "The Intrusion", her second feature project, she participated on the 2nd LoboLab International Co-Production Meeting during the 31th Mar del Plata Film Festival, on the 8th New Stories Development Lab at São Paulo, the 9º BRLab - Audiovisual Projects Development Laboratory, and the 2º Ventana Sur Proyecta Lab. The project also wins the Hubert Bals Co-Production Fund and São Paulo Film Company Fund. Current projects also include Ghoststories, a feature documentary, co-directed with Désirée Pfenninger.
