Mini bio

  • Edward Lui is an Award-Winning British/Chinese Producer and Cinematographer from Middlesbrough in the North East, UK. Best known for the cult horror movie 'Unhinged' and the indie dramedy 'Drive Me to the End', Lui's work is recognised for its beautiful imagery and narrative-driven compositions.

Starting out in short films, Lui served as Director of Photography on the Chi Thai (Raging Grace) produced short film 'British People', part of the inaugural Uncertain Kingdom anthology. Among numerous other short films, Lui was also the DP on Kieran Bourne's 'She's Just a Girl and So Am I,' which won Best Silent Film at the Oniros Film Awards. He continued his collaboration with Bourne as DP on 'Those of Us,' which he also produced. This marked the first film under his Urban Crane Films banner and won Best Film at the Bute Street Film Festival 2020.

'The Monster Beneath Us' marks Lui's feature film debut as a Producer, a co-production between Urban Crane Films and EMRJ Entertainment. This film received an official selection and will have its premiere at Fright Fest 2024, held at the Odeon in Leicester Square, London.
