Biography

Sonja Kilbertus was born in Austria in 1981. With her own Munich based company Evolution Film Sonja has been producing and Awalatje - The Midwives by Sarah Noa Bozenhardt (expected 2020, co-produced with ZDF), Las Hermanas de Rocinante by Alexandra Kaufmann (released 2019 at DOK.fest Munich, co-produced with ZDF/Arte and RSI), Match Me! (released 2014 at DOK Leipzig) by Lia Jaspers. For the Swiss production Company DokLab she has been producing the projects Urban Genesis by Dodo Hunziker and Yared Zeleke (expected 2020, co-produced with SRF and ZDF), Body Of Truth (2019, co-produced with SWR/Arte and SRF) by Evelyn Schels as Swiss co-producer and Ostrov - The Island (expected 2021) by Laurent Stoop and Svetlana Rodina. 2015-2016 she was also working for RECK Filmproduktion in Zurich as production manager on documentaries by Anka Schmid and Nino Jacusso. As an author, in 2011 she co-wrote Match Me! and won the first price at the BR TELEPOOL Treatment Competition for her script Mirrored by Horses. 2002 to 2007 studies in film production and cinematography at the film academy Vienna and graduated with Das Große Glück Sozusagen bei Alexander Stecher.
