Giovanni Carta is an Italian filmmaker, photographer and writer whose work explores human relationships, loneliness, irony and emotional connection through a cinematic and visually driven language. He writes, directs and edits independent short films, music videos and audiovisual projects, many of which have been presented at national and international festivals. His passion for cinema developed alongside photography, which remains deeply intertwined with his visual approach to storytelling. Through light, composition and atmosphere, he seeks to create emotionally resonant and visually immersive narratives. In recent years, he has also explored AI-assisted filmmaking, integrating generative technologies into a strongly human-led creative process focused on cinematic storytelling, editing, visual continuity and emotional authenticity. He is the founder of Cartafilm, an independent creative workshop built around the collaboration of actors, musicians, technicians and artists.
