Allison Mattox is a writer/director who studied at USC and now lives in Brooklyn. A former evangelical homeschooler, Allison now writes about high control groups--from patriarchal ballet companies to Appalachian coal country.
In 2025, Allison’s feature screenplay, SPRAGGER, won Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope Competition. Her feature script, ÉCHAPPÉ, was a semifinalist in the Austin Film Festival, scored in the Top 50 in the Launch Pad Competition, and placed in the Nicholl, Final Draft, and ScreenCraft Competitions. The short film version of ÉCHAPPÉ screened at over 20 festivals and won Film Pipeline’s Short Film Competition. Allison also directs theater and recently staged Sarah DeLappe’s THE WOLVES at the longstanding Flea Theater in NYC.
