Biography

Steven is an award-winning producer, director and educator. As a graduate from the University of Toronto, Steven won Best First Feature at the U of T Film Festival in 2005, and earned a role as a documentary Features Producer at the National Hockey League.

Touring the world and telling stories about the league's marquee players and events, Steven amassed millions of views over a 10 year body of work, including the award-winning doc series "NHL Life" which earned seven w3 web awards, including Best Drama Series in 2015.

After full-time successful stints at Major League Baseball and The Walt Disney Company, Steven established 383 Pictures, and directed and produced the Washington DC set documentary "The Cannons," which had its World Premiere at the prestigious DOC NYC Film Festival in November 2021, touring North America and earning Canadian Screen Award recognition for its film festival success. In 2024-25, Steven wrote, produced, and edited the series "Trophy Case" which was showcased on ESPN + and SportsNet. His other produced and directed work has also been seen on HBO, TNT, CBC, ESPN + and NBC.

An eye for television development, Steven continues to produce and develop serial long-form scripted and documentary series, having worked with major studios and agencies like Lionsgate Canada, Project 10 and UTA.

Steven has directed and produced nationally-televised commercials and branded content stories for major partners in North America, including 7-Eleven, Adidas, and Scotiabank.

Steven formerly served as Program Director for the Toronto Film School's marquee Film Production Department and Video Production Online program, bringing those programs to new heights including overseeing a 2.5 million dollar equipment investment from it's ownership group, and helping secure major collaborations with Sony Canada and ARRI.
