  • Valisia LeKae is a Grammy and Tony nominated actress and singer. She is known for originating the role of "Diana Ross" in the Broadway production of Motown: The Musical. She was nominated for a Grammy Award, a Tony Award, a Drama League Award and an Outer Critics Award. She also won a Theatre World Award for her performance. She can be heard on the Motown: The Musical cast album as "Diana Ross."

  • She was nominated for a 2014 Grammy Award (Principal Soloist: Motown The Musical) a 2013 Tony Award (Best Performance by a Leading Role in a Musical) and she won a 2013 Theatre World Award for her portrayal of Diana Ross in "Motown: The Musical." She was awarded a 2010 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for "Ragtime".
  • On November 22, 2013 she had laparoscopic surgery to remove an endometrioma from her right ovary. A sample was taken from that endometrioma and on December 2, 2013, her pathology results revealed that she had ovarian cancer. After receiving a second opinion it was confirmed by a Gynecologic Oncologist on December 9, 2013, that the diagnosis had been correct. She had another surgery (unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) as well as chemotherapy scheduled for December 19, 2013 and chemotherapy soon thereafter.
