Karen Chmielnicki is a first-generation Polish-American SAG actor with unmistakable New York street smarts-sharp, instinctive, and impossible to ignore the second she starts talking. She specializes in characters where biting humor meets gritty authority.
Karen has appeared in multiple HBO series, on Amazon and AMC, and in numerous independent films in both New York and Los Angeles. She auditions consistently and is always ready to travel for the right role...because great characters don’t stay in one zip code.
She holds a Master’s degree from NYU in Media and Film Production and brings a strong storytelling perspective to her work. Karen is currently writing a comedic script and produced the award-winning documentary Sex Robot Madness, which premiered internationally at the One World Human Rights Film Festival in Prague.
Her love of film and television started early-growing up, she was constantly creating characters, slipping into different voices and accents, and instinctively performing long before it was ever a profession. That early obsession still fuels her work today.
She trained at UCB and performed with an improv group for many years, sharpening her comedic instincts, timing, and fearless point of view.
Conversational in Polish and Hebrew, Karen brings cultural specificity and edge to every performance.
