Biography

Jack Lester was born in 1908 in Walsall, Staffordshire, England, UK. He died in 1956.

Curator of the reptile house at London Zoo from 1946 until his death in 1956. Fate of his falling ill while presenting Zoo Quest led to producer David Attenborough moving in front of the camera, beginning a career which sustained around 60 years.
