- Spencer McAndrew was born in Paris, France.
He is the son of American stage actress and writer Phyllis Yordan and the grandson of the screenwriter and producer Philip Yordan and the actress and pianist Caprice Toriel.
He studied British and American Litterature before graduating from the American Film School of Paris (Eicar) with a master degree in directing and screenwriting.
He has directed a short film « In a World of my Own » - short film corner Cannes 2010 And « Je dans me donc je suis » a 120 minutes documentary on a handicapped dancing company in 2015 for the Fondation d'Aligre et Marie Thérèse.
For 12 years he has been teaching acting and cinema directing in various structures. Private Film schools, theaters as well as coaching professional actors and singers.
Since 2010 he has been curating his Grandfather's cultural estate by interviewing all sorts of artists, producers, film executives and films critics and gathering the family archives to produce a series of books retelling the stories of the four generations of artists in his family.
