Patrick was born in the plains of Oklahoma. He began filmmaking at the ripe old age of 3, making a stop-motion cartoon with his father using a 16mm Bolex and a homemade flatbed editing station. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2012, he has specialized in editing documentary television and scripted comedy. In 2017, he won an Emmy for his work on 'Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes'.
