Jean-Olivier Bégin discovers his passion for composition in the image during a trip to Los Angeles as part of the Henri Mancini Summer Education Program at UCLA. He then moved to New York City for four years to perfect himself in film music and complete a master's degree at the Manhattan School of Music.
With his first soundtrack for the short film Operated by Invisible Hands, he won an Emmy Award for Best Composition at the 29th Annual College TV Awards in Hollywood. Jean-Olivier is since returned to his native Montreal to pursue his career as a composer and has written music for dozens of documentary and fiction series and feature films (click here to view the IMDB page). In 2017, he won a first Prix Gémeaux in the category "Best Original Music: Documentary" for the music of Conte du Centre-Sud, and then won the SOCAN "Award Composer of Music in Image of the Year 2018".
