- Matthew Maloney is a director, animator and digital media artist from Washington DC. He is an experimental animator known for his work on The Anchorite (2009), Loon (2015), and Gryphon Animo (2018). Maloney got his start in local theatre working for the Vienna Theatre Company, a theatre troupe founded by his grandfather Norman Chaudet. He moved to the South Eastern United States as a teenager and began working in commercial animation and games after getting his MFA in Animation. He helped developed animated filmmaking programs in Raleigh, North Carolina at the School of Communication Arts and in Atlanta Georgia at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

- In addition to digital media, Maloney is a jeweler and creates custom skull rings and sculptural jewelry. This aspect of his career has grown to nearly overshadow his digital media work.
